As data-science team lead you will run the team that tells us what cool things can we do with the pills of data we obtain. You will lead and expand a team of brilliant data scientists, and collaborate with product and engineers to ensure our vision and pragmatic needs are aligned. You are expected to understand our business, then lead the thought process of identifying what the merger of data and algorithms can do to best answer these needs in innovative ways. The Data Science team is a high profile team that is a center of innovation for the company and a major contributor to the company’s core products. Major Responsibilities:
Develop Data Science Roadmap and Objectives and align with Product and Engineering
Prototype solutions, validate predictive models, evaluate new methods and advise on machine learning technologies in advance of formal development
Sign off on definition of done for all Data Science product stories
Review and deliver data science solutions across products
Directly manage a team of data scientists, hire, onboard and train new team members
Establish repeatable methods, frameworks and best practices for your team
Work on challenging fundamental data science problems in NLP, user segmentation, optimization, etc.

Qualifications:
2+ years of managerial experience, leading researchers. 4+ years of experience as a data science, professional experience in algorithm development, machine learning, information retrieval or data mining in the industry
Strong mathematics & statistics background. Strong technical skills, deep understanding of data structures and algorithms
MSc in a relevant field (computer science, mathematics, statistics or related), Ph.D. is an advantage.
3+ years of Fluency with at least one coding language such as Python / Scala / MATLAB / R
Familiarity with relational databases and SQL
Ability to analyze large data sets and find patterns in it, design algorithmic solutions and implement them into a working product
Extensive experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches using machine learning methods
Track record of using advanced statistical methods, information retrieval, data mining techniques
Comfort manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources
Acquaintance with Big Data technologies (Hadoop / Hive / Pig / Spark) and noSQL databases (Elasticsearch /neo4 / orientDB) – an advantage
A flexible analytic approach that allows for results at varying levels of precision
